Meet David Deighton

At the age of four, my family moved from Dalmally, Scotland, to England. From a young age, I developed a passion for creative writing, leaving school at 15 to pursue my dream. However, I had little to write about at that age and ended up in a career in IT, that took me around the world to live in many fascinating places, including Paris, Brussels, Luxembourg, Hong Kong, São Paulo, Pompano Beach, Palo Alto, London, and across the UK. I earned an MSc in Software Engineering from the University of Oxford and became a regular speaker at technology and higher education conferences before retiring and returning to Dalmally to focus on writing.
